The Artful Bag Challenge - April - Make and trade an ATC card

The theme? Handbags, of course.  Here's mine:
I made the background by adding packing tape, painting it with champagne-colored acrylic paint, adding some ink shading, stamping and then edging with gold.  The handbag is made with washi paper.  The inchies are covered with kimono material and were a gift from a trader.  And inside the purse is a coin for good luck!

Artful Bag Challenge - February

For this month's Artful Bag Challenge, the theme is Alter It.  The objective is to take any object that is NOT a bag and turn it into one.  Here's my creation:
I took an empty microwave popcorn box and turned it into a movie lover's handbag.  The purse handles are made of 'celluloid,' which I printed onto a transparency.  I decorated the box with movie posters. And I also used magazine covers of silent screen stars of whom I am fond.
Citizen Kane is one of my favorite films.

Lillian Gish (on the cover of Photoplay) is another favorite silent film star.  I was fortunate enough to see Miss Gish in person in the early 1980's when she appeared at a showing of one of her films.

The Artful Bag Challenge

Here's another intriguing challenge that I want to take part in this year - The Artful Bag Challenge.  The January theme is 'playing with paper.'  I created a winter handbag that should be quite in tune with the season!
