Take a Word Challenge - Black Bird

The theme of this week's Take a Word Challenge is Black Bird.
The background of this card is a piece of printing plate.  I work at a graphic arts supplier that custom cuts printing plates for customers.  This card was cut from the scrap and then embossed.  The color is the natural color of the plate.

Artful Bag Challenge - February

For this month's Artful Bag Challenge, the theme is Alter It.  The objective is to take any object that is NOT a bag and turn it into one.  Here's my creation:
I took an empty microwave popcorn box and turned it into a movie lover's handbag.  The purse handles are made of 'celluloid,' which I printed onto a transparency.  I decorated the box with movie posters. And I also used magazine covers of silent screen stars of whom I am fond.
Citizen Kane is one of my favorite films.

Lillian Gish (on the cover of Photoplay) is another favorite silent film star.  I was fortunate enough to see Miss Gish in person in the early 1980's when she appeared at a showing of one of her films.

Dress Up 2011 - Klimt

For this month's Dress Up 2011 challenge, I was inspired by this wonderful painting by Gustav Klimt:

Portrait of Emilie Floge (1902)
I really love this dress!  Blue is my favorite color; and I have always loved this type of sleeve.  The dress looks to me to be very sheer and although the skirt looks rather straight, I imagine that it billowed around when she twirled.  Here is my dress:
