Teacup ATC Exchange

Wendy made these gorgeous ATC cards for our trade.

These are the cups I made.  Lesley  is also in on this swap but poor Lesley is suffering from the effects of the Canadian postal strike; so she may not get hers for a while.  I slipped a digit and made cups instead of ATC cards!  They say the brain is the first to go.

I used an online template to cut the cups.  There are lots of great templates online!  Search Google images for tea cup template and you'll see what I mean.  After I applied the images, I covered all of the cards with Glossy Accents to give them a porcelain-like appearance.

Art Creation Friday - First Timer

This is for the Art Creations Friday.
This is the first time I've done this challenge.  I am ASTOUNDED at the incredible talent that the contributors to this challenge have!  I urge you to check out their contributions!

This is how I feel whenever I try to read.  I only have two cats; but somehow, it seems like a lot more!

Another Trading Card inspired by Matisse's Cut-Outs

This is the card that I sent for the trade.  I used a beautiful glittery card that I received from one of my great trading partners.  And then the 'cut-outs' are mostly paint chips!  In fact, the orange cut out had that rounded square cut right into it.  The black accents are purchased stickers.  I hope Reni likes it!

Purple Marie

This ATC card was made for a swap with my Yahoo group.  The challenge was to make a card using color combos that we don't usually use.  I used various shades of purple and blue watercolor to color some thin paper.  After it dried, I crumpled it up and pasted it on the card, using a brayer to press lots of folds into the design.    The butterfly is embossed and the pansy is a dried, pressed flower.

Dresses for a Swap

These cards were made for the Swap til you Drop challenge. Margaret, who is hosting the wonderful dress swap for 2010 (see side bar) is the guest designer. What a joy it is to create even more dresses!

The card for this creation was made using watercolor on bond paper.

This card features hand-sewn seed beads and a brayered paper card.

You can never have enough butterflies!  The lovely flower trim on this dress came from a wonderful artist in Holland.
